Cape Hope
Along coast from Houlong & Zhunan in Miaoli, more than 25 windmills are set to transfer wind energy to electricity. Cape Hope is the place. Located in Miao Li County. One of the place that you must visit for the cold wind and breathtaking views.
It was originally a military restricted area with a scouting bunker built at its peak. Later on, the restriction had been loosened and made it become a popular attraction for admiring sunset. There are few food vendors for the tourist to buy foods & drinks while enjoying the view.
Dozens of windmills in various distances could be seen from here. You might even stand right below a windmill to feel oppression when sea wind blowing over to rotate fan blades. The intermittent roar from rotation reveals the strength of nature to us.
If you are feeling fine to go further, follow the trail downwards to another bunker and even reach seaside. It is worth to drop by here and it is free for public.
